Nuweratha is a system of twelve planets, each with their own languages and cultures. They share an interplanetary language of Jallathes and a common notation for music, mathematics, and science. The sixth millennium of Nuwerathan history corresponds roughly to the tenth to eleventh century Abbasid era of the Middle East, a time of scientific innovation, multi-ethnic cultural flourishing, and scholarly productivity. Six of the twelve planets comprise the Neptonian Empire. Within the dominant Neptonian culture, learning and the arts are held in high esteem. Swords are used not only as weapons but as markers of status, identity, and honor traditions.
